Reeds Spring High School began its winter sports season last week. The Wolves compete in boys basketball, girls basketball, and wrestling.
The boys basketball team won the consolation bracket of the Forsyth Tournament (5th Place). After losing the opening game to Hollister 67-53, the Wolves rebounded to beat Blue Eye 46-43 and Carl Junction 52-42. Ty Cooper earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team, scoring 29 points against Hollister and 25 against Carl Junction. Tanner Hirschi scored 21 in the win over Blue Eye.
The freshmen team played in the Logan-Rogersville Tournament and lost games to Marshfield, Kickapoo’s B-Team, and Clever.
In the Blue Eye Tournament, the Lady Wolves lost to Forsyth 69-30. Then, they beat Glendale’s JV team 48-43, with Jade Watson scoring 14 points. In the consolation bracket championship (5th Place Game), Reeds Spring lost to Spokane 49-30. Watson scored 18 in that game.
The Wolves hosted Nevada and Hollister on December 1. RSHS beat Hollister 46-18. Winners for the Wolves included Easton Byrne at 138 pounds, Jakob McCracken at 145, Wyatt Rogers at 152, Evan Wilson at 170, Nick Rogers at 182, and Eben Crain at 285.
Nevada beat Reeds Spring 42-33. Winners for the Wolves included Zaiden Fuentes at 126 pounds, Shane Thompson at 132, Easton Byrne at 138, Jakob McCracken at 145, and Eben Crain at 285.
