After a record-setting career at Reeds Spring High School, senior Izzy Erickson will continue her softball career at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kansas. The Grizzlies are known for having an outstanding softball program, having won the NJCAA Division I championship in 2016 and 2017.
“They’re a really great program,” Erickson said. “I always to play at a good level and they are going to take me to that level. I just wanted to be part of something successful like they are.”
Erickson was a four-year starter at pitcher for the Lady Wolves. She holds numerous school records, including best batting average (.570), most home runs in a season (8), most strikeouts by a pitcher (230), and most career strikeouts (520). While she’s excited to begin the next chapter in her career, she has fond memories of Reeds Spring High School.
“The countless hour I had to put in, all the practices and fun times with teammates, I’ll never forget that,” Erickson said.
She plans to possibly study business, with hopes of becoming a financial advisor.
