Reeds Spring High School’s memorable softball season ended with a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Logan-Rogersville in the district championship game. Pitcher Izzy Erickson struck out nine batters and senior Brooke Davis had an RBI single. Earlier in the week, the Lady Wolves defeated Nixa 2-0 and Hillcrest 10-0. Erickson pitched no-hitters in both of those games. The team finished the year with a record of 18-6.
The RSHS volleyball team lost to Logan-Rogersville 2-0. In the Hollister Tournament, the Lady Wolves defeated Galena 2-0 and Valley Springs 2-0, before losing to Strafford twice. The JV team won the Hollister Tournament, beating Bergman, Thayer, Valley Springs, and Blue Eye twice.
The Wolves lost to Cassville 42-7. Quarterback Sean Gross rushed for the lone touchdown on a nine-yard run. Colton Cramblett had 74 yards rushing on 17 carries. On defense, Matt Allison and Daniel Scott each had seven tackles. The Wolves (4-4) host Aurora on Friday, October 28.
At the BIG 8 meet, the RSHS boys finished 10th overall. Freshman Evan Brandsma was 26th, Cole Weydert 29th, Tanner Hirschi 39th, Thomas Pinion 53rd, and Ethan Gordon 68th.
The JV team finished first, with CJ Merritt winning the race, followed by Jacob Gordon in fourth place, Devin Harris fifth, Dominic Noriega sixth, and Zach Hurtgen seventh. In the girls JV race, Nicole Yendes finished fourth.
At School of the Ozarks, the RSHS boys finished second overall. Cole Weydert was tenth, Evan Brandsma 18th, Ethan Gordon 20th, CJ Merritt 24th, and Jacob Gordon 31st.
