RSHS Sports Recap for Week of Sept. 30-Oct. 5

The Reeds Spring Wolves successfully defended their turf on Homecoming, defeating Hollister 35-14. Quarterback Sean Gross had 107 yards passing and three touchdowns. JT Bayliff had 112 yards rushing with a touchdown. On defense, Colton Cramblett recorded 13 tackles followed by Al Chavez with 10. The Wolves are now 4-2 and play at Marshfield on Friday, October 11. 

Volleyball
The RSHS volleyball competed in a tournament at Mt. Vernon. During pool play, the Lady Wolves beat McDonald County and tied with Camdenton and Clever. In the elimination bracket, RSHS defeated Republic before falling to Branson 2-1. 

Earlier in the week, the Lady Wolves beat Springfield Central and lost to Springfield Catholic and Mt. Vernon.

Softball
The softball team competed in the Springfield Invitational, winning two games and losing two games. The Lady Wolves defeated Parkway Central 6-0 and Wentzville Liberty 2-1. They lost to Joplin 8-3 and Lee’s Summit North 5-4.

Earlier in the week, RSHS beat Cassville 12-2 and Sullivan 2-0.

Tennis
In the BIG 8 Conference Tournament last Wednesday, three Reeds Spring tennis players finished fourth in their singles flights. Congratulations to Olivia Giebler, Sophia Brown, and Mckenzie Coffelt. Also last week, the Lady Wolves lost to Monett 8-1. 
 
This Wolves travel to Willow Springs for the team district tournament on Monday, October 7 and play Friday in the district individual tournament at Rogersville.
 
Cross Country
At the Lamar Invitational, the RSHS boys cross country team placed 12th overall. Evan Brandsma finished 31st, Cole Weydert was 35th, C.J. Merritt 65th, Ethan Gordon 94th, and Dominic Noriega 97th. In the girls JV race, Nicole Yendes finished sixth.

At East Newton, the Wolves were seventh overall. Cole Weydert was 39th, Evan Brandsma 41st, Ethan Gordon 47th, Tanner Hirschi 48th, and Thomas Pinion 57th.
